Mayor of the City of Kranj, Republic of Slovenia, visited UF

On April 2, the delegation of the City of Kranj, Republic of Slovenia, including Mayor MATJAŽ RAKOVEC, paid a courtesy visit to University of Fukui and met with President UEDA Takanori.

The city of Kranj, with a population of 57,000, is the center of the electronics industry in Slovenia, and is actively addressing environmental issues, including being selected as the best e-mobility city in Slovenia in 2021.

During the meeting, President UEDA introduced University of Fukui, saying, “Our university focuses on data science education and fostering outstanding, highly-skilled professionals. Mayor RAKOVEC introduced the City of Kranj, focusing on its “green city” initiatives that utilize solar and hydrogen energy. He said “Fukui City and Slovenia are full of greenery and have many things in common. We both have good ideas. I would like to invite everyone to Kranj in the future to deepen exchanges.”
